The Platte Valley Fire Protection District relies on the dedication of its volunteers
to provide professional emergency services.
Without our diverse base of trained and dedicated
personnel, we would not be where we are today.
It takes commitment of time, heart, and soul to
become a volunteer with Platte Valley Fire.
Our volunteers are not only committed to bettering
themselves mentally and physically, but also willing to put their lives on the line
at a moment's notice for the safety and benefit of all.

Application Process
The district accepts applications for the position
of Volunteer Probationary Firefighter year-round. Applications can be downloaded
online here (requires Microsoft Word).
Applications are reviewed, applicants interviewed,
and any available positions filled at the district Business Meeting in January and July.
Applicants are then subjected to a criminal background
check and work/character references are contacted.
Applications and background checks are then
reviewed and approved or denied by the District Board of Directors at their regular meeting.
Once the applicants have been approved by the
Board of Directors, they will be issued gear, including appropriate PPE and paging equipment.
Please Note: Special consideration is not given to those who
already hold the minimum certification requirements. Open positions are only filled in January and July.
To apply, please obtain an application
online, and send it to or drop it off at the fire station.
