Welcome to the Platte Valley Fire Protection District
The Platte Valley Fire Protection District serves the Town of Kersey, community
of Gill, and the surrounding unincorporated areas in Weld County, Colorado.
We provide the citizens of our district with professional emergency services responding
to fire, EMS, and rescue incidents as well as citizen assists, community events, fire
prevention training, and more.
Our district is one of the few in our county that remains exclusively volunteer for
our call volume. Even so, we maintain one of the best-trained rural fire/rescue
departments in Weld County. |

Celebrating over 96 years of service...
The dedicated men and women of Platte Valley Fire
have been providing emergency services for numerous years prior to 1909 - when the first fire wagon
was built. They continue to proudly do the same today, volunteering their time and putting
their lives on the line to help others.
As we approach our historical anniversary of 100
years of service, we face new challenges both in the fire service and in our own community.
We continue look to the future and through careful, thoughtful planning, we prepare ourselves
for what is yet to come.
Unveiling a new department image...
We have established our web site in conjunction with unveiling our new department
image which includes an updated uniform with a new, professional patch,
new branding material, a color/honor guard, improved administration, advanced training,
and much more.
We welcome you to browse around and learn more about our district. Inside you
will find a wealth of information about us - such as district statistics,
our current personnel, programs we offer, and how you can get involved in helping our community.
Feel free to call us with any questions you may have, or stop by and see us sometime!
Our meetings and trainings are always open to the public - so come and watch us work.
